About Us

Who We Are

BIBLE :Our name says a lot about us.” Bible” – God’s Holy Word is what we teach , learn and live by and our faith is based on the Bible. A key teaching in Christianity is the inerrancy of Scripture, meaning the Bible in its original state is without error (2 Tim. 3:16,2 Pet. 1:21). The central theme of the Bible is God’s plan of salvation–His way of providing deliverance from sin and spiritual death through repentance and faith.

(2 Tim. 3:16,2 Pet. 1:21)

BAPTIST

BAPTIST:  It is a word in the New  Testament that means that someone has been dipped or immersed. People who believed in Christ as their savior were baptized. It is a visual way of saying that In Christ we have died in the old life of sin and have been raised in a new life in Him. Baptists also believe that Christ is the only head of the  Bible Believing Church and every believer is called to serve Him.

Church

CHURCH: This is the third part of our name. What is a Church? The word means “Called out assembly”. God is calling out people who have come to know that they are sinners,  have trusted in Christ as their saviour and have been baptized as a public testimony to their faith. According to the Bible, such people are Christians and are called together as a local church. At BBC we follow the Bible’s precepts, principles and practices as we serve Christ together as members of his body.

Why we are here

Our purpose as a Church is to know Christ and to make him known. We think of our Church as a “School of Christ” in which we come together to learn about him. The Bible – God’s holy Word is what we teach and learn. The Bible is the spiritual seed that God uses to impact us eternal life. The Bible said, “being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever…”1 Pet.1:21.

What we do

The Word of God teaches us that whatever we do should be for his Glory – (1 Cor. 10:31). This means that all of life is an exercise in worship for God’s people. But we are called as  a church body to assemble together for special services of worship each Lord’s day (Heb.10:25). Our pastor and other gifted people teach and preach the Bible. We sing and pray together. We do our best to encourage and support one another. We worship God by contributing financially to the ministry of the church. Our purpose is not to be entertained,  but to be  “edified”. This means to be built up or to grow in grace towards completion.
